Who is FlamingAzalea Exactly?
I’m a bisexual transgender Latina, therian, and traumagenic system. Now, what does all this mean?
Bisexual - During my teenage years, I realized that I seemed to be attracted to multiple genders, not just the one expected of me.
Transgender - I was assigned one gender at birth, and as I aged, realized that medical label did not fit my inner gender experience. As such, in 2018, I took the first steps towards becoming my true self in terms of gender expression.
Latina - My Puerto Rican heritage is incredibly important to me. My extended family from the island have given me much love and support throughout the years, and I wouldn’t be the woman I am today without my Boricua heritage.
Therian - Though physically and genetically speaking I am fully human, in my spirit and soul I truly, deeply feel I am not. I feel in my heart that I am at least partially some sort of creature, specifically a wolf.
Traumagenic System - Through various traumatic events and abusive people I’ve survived in my life, I’ve developed Dissociative Identity Disorder as a coping mechanism, developing multiple personalities, who are sometimes depicted in my art and may interact with the world.
History of FlamingAzalea’s Art
FlamingAzalea, also known as Alexandra Fire, and previously known as AlejandroDelFuego, has beeen drawing and posting art online since around 2008, at around 13 years old. Uploading art to DeviantArt, FlamingAzalea explored various themes of art, soon settling into the furry genre, expressing my emotions through my creations to the best of my artistic abilities.
Though I no longer post to DeviantArt, I post on a variety of other sites, including FurAffinity, Bluesky, and Itaku.
In 2018, AlejandroDelFuego transitioned into AlexandraFire, expressing my transgender identity in my art and changing my fursona to better represent my identity.
In 2024, AlexandraFire finally changed to FlamingAzalea, the modern day username of my art accounts. Since then, I have done art under this name.
